The Obesity Society is the leading scientific society dedicated to the study of obesity. Since 1982, The Obesity Society has been committed to encouraging research on the causes and treatment of obesity, and to keeping the medical community and public informed of new advances.

Overweight and Obesity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) presents information on obesity.

Emedicine Obesity
EMedicineHealth.com is a consumer health information site that contains over 900 health and medical articles written by physicians for patients and consumers. This link will take you to their articles on obesity.

Obesity in America
This website, created by the Endocrine Society and the Hormone Foundation, has articles, news and statistics on the topic of obesity.

International Association for the Study of Obesity
The International Association for the Study of Obesity (IASO) is a not-for-profit organisation that links over 50 regional and national associations. It is an umbrella organisation for 52 national obesity associations, representing 56 countries. This website contains links to current news on obesity, and articles on the health impacts of obesity.

Clinical Guidelines on the Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults
The National Center for Biotechnology Information has put the full text of this evidence report online. It covers the incidence, diagnosis, monitoring, prevention and treatment of overweight and obese adults, and it is also available in PDF format.
